Prawn Pepper Fry
This popular south Indian Stir Fried snack is simple and instant hit

Ingredients
- Prawns - 16 nos
- Green cardamom - 4 nos
- Pather ke phool - 1 small piece
- Curry leaves - 10gms
- Garlic paste - 50gm
- Coriander powder -2tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Lemon - 1 no
- oil - 200ml
- Cinnamon - 2 nos
- Onions - 400gms
- Ginger paste - 50gm
- Turmeric- 2tsp
- Black pepper powder -2tbsp
- Tomatoes - 400gm
- Fresh green coriander - 2tbsp
Method
- Clean and devein the prawns and apply salt and keep aside. Fine chop onions and tomatoes and keep aside.
- Heat oil and add green cardamom, cinnamon and pathar ke phool. Once they splutter add the onions and curry leaves. Saute till transparent. Now add the ginger and garlic paste and saute well. Add turmeric, and coriander powder and half the black pepper powder.
- Saute for a while and now add tomatoes. Cook for 10 mins and then add prawns and salt and remaining pepper powder.
- Squeeze lime and take off flame. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander. Serve hot.
Notes
Do not overcook prawns or they will get tough.
